During our initial attempt it was confusing to find the longer west finger of the sand bar that I usually park the buoy on because I could not find the 3 fingers at the end of the bar. The best I can figure out is the sand bar has shifted a lot since last year. The second launch attempt was a lot easier when we had sun light to see the bottom to confirm location. This made it easier than just using the portable depth sounder.
"At any rate the buoy is floating in 12-15 ft of water. You should pass to the south of it since it is a south cardinal buoy, albeit not looking like one since it is an orange barrel. We could not find shallower water to the south of it. However, there is no warranty expressed or implied on it's location! If you find shallow water south of the buoy please let me know and I'll move it."
