What Should I Bring?
Please come prepared for a full day on the water. We recommend bringing:
What Can I Expect?
Each day begins with introductions on the back deck of the clubhouse at the scheduled start time.
Our program follows the Sail Canada CANSail 2.0 curriculum and is led by trained and certified instructors. Instruction is tailored to each participant’s experience level — whether it’s your first time stepping into a sailboat or you already have sailing experience.
A typical day includes:
Full-day programs include two on-water sessions with a lunch break. Half-day programs include one on-water session.

Please come prepared for a full day on the water. We recommend bringing:
- Clothing suitable for getting wet and appropriate for the weather
- A change of clothes and shoes for after sailing
- Soft-soled, closed-toe shoes or water shoes (Crocs are not preferred)
- A Transport Canada–approved PFD or life jacket (We have some available, though most sailors prefer to use their own)
- Water bottle (Our well water has a sulphur taste, so please bring what you need for the day)
- Lunch (We have a full kitchen with fridges. There is a general store just down the road as well)
- Sunscreen
- Hat

- An on-water safety briefing
- On-water sailing sessions
- A short debrief after each session

- Sailing terminology
- Steering
- Balance
- Sail controls
- Safety awareness

Weather & Safety Disclaimer
Weather conditions can vary, and while we can’t control them, safety is always our top priority. If conditions are not suitable for sailing, alternative activities and contingency plans will be used to continue skill development. Make-up classes are not available.
