The race will take place August 21 and 22, 2021. We're looking for volunteers to help run the race (free pizza!). Write to Fleet Captain Michael Morris, email@example.com, to volunteer or for details about the race. Check back here for the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions.
This year's Spring Series Regatta ran June 12 and13. Here are the results:
Thanks to Fleet Captain Michael Morris and his race crew for all their work!
The Spring Series races will be delayed until Alberta has moved to Stage 2 Reopening. That will ease restrictions regarding adult sports which should provide greater comfort and confidence to all participants and result in more boats and crew participating. We apologize for the short notice and hope you can join us June 12 and 13.
New this year, the Wabamum PHRF handicap system is intended to make races as fair and fun as possible by establishing a personalized PHRF for each boat. The last page in the link is the 2021 Yacht Registration and Equipment Inventory Declaration form. That's just a fancy way to say "tell us a bit about your boat," so we can establish a personalized PHRF Handicap for you.
Personalized handicaps will go a long way to leveling the playing field for all boats, whether your boat has the latest Go Fast gear or is just a Basic Boat™️. If you want help filling out your PHRF form, please contact Mike Morris (firstname.lastname@example.org), Tim Bowles (email@example.com) or Julius Nemeth (firstname.lastname@example.org).

The major races in 2021 (with the host club in parentheses):
This year's Splice the Mainbrace race will take place September 22 and 23. The Notice of Race, Registration Form and Course Layout are in this document. Write to EYC Fleet Captain Tim Bowles at email@example.com if you have questions.
(What's this mainbrace and why does it need splicing? "Originally an order for one of the most difficult emergency repair jobs aboard a sailing ship...")
This year's Fall Series will run over a single weekend, September 8 and 9. The Notice of Race, Registration Form and Course Layout are in this document. Write to EYC Fleet Captain Tim Bowles at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
The day started with light winds that became quite strong and gusty during all three Jack & Jill races, resulting in a couple of boats having to retire due to Equipment trouble. Despite the tough sailing conditions the day was very enjoyable with some fine sailing and tight competition.
Many thanks to the Race Committee: Joanne Wynn & Tim Bowles from EYC and John Semple from SBYC.
