(What's this mainbrace and why does it need splicing? "Originally an order for one of the most difficult emergency repair jobs aboard a sailing ship...")
This year's Fall Series will run over a single weekend, September 8 and 9. The Notice of Race, Registration Form and Course Layout are in this document. Write to EYC Fleet Captain Tim Bowles at email@example.com if you have questions.
The day started with light winds that became quite strong and gusty during all three Jack & Jill races, resulting in a couple of boats having to retire due to Equipment trouble. Despite the tough sailing conditions the day was very enjoyable with some fine sailing and tight competition.
Many thanks to the Race Committee: Joanne Wynn & Tim Bowles from EYC and John Semple from SBYC.
The last couple of races have seen very light winds with tenacious Racers using all their skills to coax whatever speed they can out of their vessels. It is not too late to participate, as Pursuit Races (AKA, the Summer Series) continue on Wednesday evenings, August 15, 22 and 29.
EYC members can click here (password required) for access to the Notice of Race, Registration Form and your boat's PHRF rating and start time.

SBYC Fleet Captain John Semple writes: 13 boats came out to race for the 2nd Wednesday night Pursuit. There were no DSQ or DNF last night! The weather was fantastic and the winds were between 4-6 Knots. There were three San Juan 24’s out with two of them doing some great match racing. Five boats from EYC and eight from SBYC made it out. We noticed a number of women at the helm, which makes us believe that the Rose Cup will have some great racing on July 14th.
Top four spots after 2 Pursuit Races
Eight races still remain in the series so lots time for movement yet. There are no Skippers meetings prior to the start of each race and these races are free and there will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, at the end of the series. Once you are registered all you need to do is just show up at the start line and begin the race when appropriate based on you PHRF start time.
Registration can be done prior to start on the water or preferably online before race; email to SBYC Fleet Captain email@example.com or Tim Bowles firstname.lastname@example.org.
EYC's website has the Notice of Race, Registration Form and this members-only page to look up your boat's PHRF rating and start time.
