Purpose:
To provide guidelines for the orderly winter storage of members boats at the Edmonton Yacht Club.
Policy:
The policy includes: boats, boat trailers, lifts, kayaks, canoes and associated paraphernalia.
The winter storage of boats is allowed on Hurry Inn, at the discretion of the EYC board, for the period of time starting the October long weekend and ending no later than the May long weekend. Update for 2017: Late ice caused us to extend winter rates through the end of May.
Boats remaining on EYC’s property (Hurry Inn) outside of the above time frames will switch from the winter storage rate to a daily rate of not less than $20/day.
The board reserves the right to, with advance notice, alter the storage period as outlined in paragraph 3.
The rationale for setting a deadline to remove boats (primarily cruisers) from Hurry Inn in the spring is:
The location of areas where boats can be parked will be determined by the Director of Hurry Inn. No boat shall be parked in a way that inhibits access to the clubhouse, cabins or trailer spots.
Additionally any dinghies or catamarans stored on land during the summer, must be set up in a way they are easily moved by the groundskeeper, e.g. on dollies.

The rationale for setting a deadline to remove boats (primarily cruisers) from Hurry Inn in the spring is:
- To facilitate the groundskeeper’s work
- To ensure cabin and trailer spots are unencumbered for their renters
- To ensure EYC’s grounds are in keeping with the rest of the lake front properties in Seba Beach
- To facilitate the unobstructed use of the Hurry Inn area by all club members.
