An important message from Pat MacDonald, Sunshine Bay Yacht Club's Fleet Captain...
Hello all SBYC & EYC members,
Much appreciation should be afforded to Murry Erickson for taking the time to review and revise the PHRF Handicap ratings for most of the boats within the two yacht clubs at Wabamun Lake. We have included the ratings that we plan to use and the respective Start Times for all boats in the Pursuit Racing that begins Wednesday, July 8 at 7:00 PM. [Look for your boat in the document on this members only web page]
The Start Times will also be posted at SBYC and EYC clubhouses.
If you have any questions or concerns with the PHRF-based Start Time that you have been assigned please feel free to contact either Fleet Captain to discuss [Pat, Sasha].
Please note, the time for your boat is very specific and it is up to you to ensure that your boat does not cross the starting line prior to your time. That is your responsibility.
Please note, we will be providing a 3-legged course (3 markers) for these races as opposed to the 2-legged sausage course of the past. As the diagram exhibits, there are upwind beats, broad reaches and downwind runs included in the course.
We would appreciate it greatly if you and your crew were to familiarize yourselves with the course layout prior to the race.
See you out on Wednesday evening for some fun racing. May the winds be favourable.
Pat MacDonald,
2015 SBYC Fleet Captain
