Pulling boats out at Seba Beach

The webmaster has meant to write this up for some time. This page is a first draft, written September 17, 2021. Credit to Bob Iveson for figuring this out and for assembling the kit.

There is what you might call a "hitch extension". Imagine a 15-foot metal tube with a receiver at one end (clamps to your vehicle hitch) and both a pair of wheels with axle and a hitch ball at the other end. I'm guessing at the 15 feet; it's 'long'.

As you can imagine, this extends your hitch around 15 feet into the lake, allowing your vehicle to remain on dry land. (We have to imagine there is some sort of law or regulation forbidding driving one's vehicle onto the lake bottom(??).)

You're saying to yourself, "that's not long enough" and you are right, in the great majority of cases. Read on.

But, wait, there's more! We have a number of nylon straps, the kind used by truckers to cinch loads down onto a flatbed. Each strap has a metal hook on one end and a loop on the other. We typically connect 3 or more of these straps together
